Maggie Hamer

I have a long and serious passion for travel. In my childhood, my 3 siblings, Mom, Dad and I all piled into the car for our annual summer jaunts to various North American destinations. Fond memories exist still to this day and certainly provided the impetus to expand my travel horizons. An exhilarating high school trip to Spain really got the ball rolling, and I graduated from a 3-year tourism program at Centennial College.

From there I spent many years working in promotions and sales for some of Toronto's famous tourist attractions (CN Tower, Ontario Place, and Casa Loma) where I had the pleasure of welcoming numerous tour groups from across the world. Next I found myself working for a tour company where I travelled, researched and created detailed itineraries for a variety of tours - along with opportunities to travel to many far-flung destinations worldwide.

After a hiatus and a 3 month stint living and travelling in Australia, I began working in corporate event management in Toronto...a little less travel and a demanding workload. Days consisted of countless details, planning and eventually executing events for corporate clients - with groups from 10 guests to 1000. Though I still dabble in this on a freelance basis, I am absolutely thrilled to be back to my initial love - creating exciting itineraries for women travellers and escorting them to lovely locales.

My hobbies include a great love of cycling, artisan crafts, gardening and taking day jaunts whenever possible to seek out new neighbourhoods, restaurants (with ambiance) and 'out-of-the-way' gems in any area I'm visiting. Above all, living a healthy lifestyle is important to me (I also hold a certificate as a 'stress consultant' from the CDN Institute of Stress), and am therefore passionate about doing everything possible to live a healthy lifestyle. Why?? So that ideally I will be able to spend the next few decades travelling the world!

"I just got home last night from the Seaside Villages trip -AMAZING!!! We had a lovely time and Maggie looked after so many details to ensure everything went smoothly. She has such a nice way about her and we thoroughly enjoyed her company. The hotels and excursions couldn't have been better. Thank you for supplying the airport transportation from the Toulouse airport to the hotel. It was a decadent extra and was certainly appreciated.

As you know, website promises and actuality don't always match up. I want you to know, that in my opinion, your website truly reflects the experience. The adventure was as it was written up on your site, and it is evident that you are passionate about what you offer to clients and determined that the experience be as good as you can make it.

As you both know, this trip was an emotional step in my life's journey and it turned out to be an amazing experience. Thank you for "holding my hand" through the process. My next trip will definitely be with Today's Woman Traveller."   L.L., Goderich
